Dr. Choi Seung-hoon is President of Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM, www.kiom.re.kr). He has vast national and global experience improving the scientific foundation of research on traditional Korean medicine (KM), advancing KM education, and globalizing KM. Over a 10-year period, Dr. Choi has acted as the WHO WPRO regional advisor for traditional medicine from 2003 to 2008, and he was the dean of the College of Oriental Medicine at Kyunghee University, Seoul, South Korea from 2008 to 2011. He has started to teach traditional Korean medicine at the College of Oriental Medicine in Daejeon University since 1985 and he has taught KM at Kyunghee University since 1988 to present. Dr. Choi was also Invited Professor at China Medical University, Taiwan in 1989 and Visiting Professor of School of Medicine at Stanford University in 2001. He has more than 180 publications and research papers on traditional medicine on peer reviewed journals.
